Bladder Cancer

What are the symptoms of bladder cancer?

The animations on the right show the three most common symptoms.

Blood in the urine (hematuria) is the most common symptom of bladder cancer. The blood is usually visible during urination. However, in some cases, it may be visible only under a microscope.

Hematuria by itself does not confirm the presence of bladder cancer. Blood in the urine may be caused by other conditions, including a urinary tract infection or kidney stones.

Other symptoms of bladder cancer may include frequent urination and pain upon urination.
